Overview
Mountain wave is one of the most misunderstood weather phenomenon. While it is duly given a healthy dose of fear and respect by most, there is much to appreciate and take advantage of when flying in and around it. There is nothing more awe-inspiring than surfing 2000fpm glassy smooth lift, but equally gratifying is being able to predict and avoid its rougher edges.
In this course you will learn what conditions are required to form mountain wave, the structure and various flavors it comes in, and finally, how to safely manage and take advantage of the abundant energy found in these systems.
