Overview

Soaring pilots are forever in search of rising air. While most seek out summer time thermals or ridge lift, there are numerous other sources of rising air. The gateways to soaring flight are tightly interwoven with one's understanding of the atmosphere, and new adventures are discovered with each weather system you learn and explore.

This course will teach you about the many sources of lift, preflight weather briefing tools and skills, how to read and safely manage the energy in the atmosphere, and ultimately, how to stay aloft longer and fly greater distances.
