Mountain Flying Weather 

When flying in this exciting and beautiful setting, it is imperative to know that performance, comfort, and safety truly pivot around how well you understand your environment. A lesson in extremes, a flight on a calm clear day is nothing but breath taking, but put yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and you will be testing the limits of your knowledge, skill, and luck.  

The unmistakable effect mountains have on weather is the focus of this course.  Covering everything from small to large scale systems, you will learn how to forecast, read, and fly a range of weather phenomenon.

Learn the many nuances of how air flows in complex terrain, how to forecast and anticipate flight conditions, and ultimately, how to take advantage of the energy in the atmosphere.
